Eiji Ueda was born in Kyushu, Japan.
After working in Japan for a decade, he studied photography at several schools and workshops in the United States.
He is passionate about capturing the atmosphere of urban life at night. His style leans toward a documentary approach, focusing on quiet tension, fleeting moments, and the emotional layers of everyday life after dark.
His self-initiated projects are ongoing in the U.S. and Mexico.
His dummy book PASSION MAGAZINEwas selected for the KASSEL DUMMY AWARD 2019 Shortlist in May 2019.
He is currently based in Japan and is working on a new photobook that continues his exploration of urban life at night.
